Today I want to share about a new resource I heard about through Toth Ministries…I know you have been hearing about them a lot lately around here and that’s okay 😉 I just want to give credit where credit is due!

The Voice is a new translation of the Bible that has been put together by scholars, artists, poets, and many others. Here are a few excerpts from the makers of The Voice:

“The Voice helps people connect with Scripture, so it can impact their lives. It’s ideal for those who are interested in spirituality, and want their spirituality to be real in their lives and relationships. The Voice helps them to encounter “the glory of the Lord” and be “transformed by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Cor. 3:18).

One of the byproducts of the information age in the church has been its focus on biblical knowledge. Many Bibles reflect this, packed with informative notes, charts, and graphs. While there’s nothing wrong with having a deep knowledge; a personal connection and deep relationship are far better. This is exemplified by Jesus’ comment to Martha, “Oh Martha, Martha, you are so … concerned about a million details, but really, only one thing matters. Mary has chosen that one thing, and I won’t take it away from her.” (Luke 10:41-42 The Voice)

The “one thing” is a deeper, personal relationship with God. And The Voice is focused on helping readers find (or rediscover) this connection with Him. Scripture is presented not as an academic document, but as an engaging story. The intention of the scholars and authors who collaborated on The Voice is to enable readers to hear God speaking, to experience His presence in their lives.

For those that are looking for a Bible that is relevant to their life today, and that, by reading it, they can hear God speaking to them personally, The Voice is the Bible for them.”

There have been many projects published by “The Voice”, beginning in 2006. Right now, the complete New Testament is available for purchase. This coming spring- in April- all 66 books (both Old and New Testaments) will be released. I am excited for this!

For those of you who may want a “taste” of The Voice now, click on this link which will take you to a page where you can download for FREE either the book of Genesis or Isaiah.
